Honoring the diaspora through art

At Manos Morenas Cultural Center, our mission is to preserve, celebrate, and elevate the rich artistic traditions of the African Diaspora. We exist to create a vibrant space where ancestral memory meets creative expression—honoring the hands, voices, and stories of Black and Afro-descendant communities across the globe.

Celebration De Yemaya & Oshun
Oakland, CA

Join us as we honor the feast days of Yemaya and Oshun—fundamental forces of matrilineal power within Yoruba cosmology—through a two-weekend festival of celebration, workshops, and cultural exchange.

Expect live music and dance, olorisha-led workshops, cultural talks, film screenings, art exhibitions, watershed clean-up, open-air market, drumming, and African Diasporic dance classes.

Together we celebrate the waters that sustain us and uplift the ancestral traditions carried across the world.
