Our Mission
At Manos Morenas Cultural Center, our mission is to preserve, celebrate, and elevate the rich artistic traditions of the African Diaspora. We exist to create a vibrant space where ancestral memory meets creative expression—honoring the hands, voices, and stories of Black and Afro-descendant communities across the globe.
Our center is a sanctuary for healing, connection, and upliftment. Through the stories, songs, and dances of our ancestors, we remember that—against all odds—we not only survived, but we flourished. These sacred traditions are not just art forms; they are medicine, resilience, and resistance.
We are committed to using this space to build bridges within our community, to reconnect with our roots, and to shape a future grounded in dignity, unity, and joy. Through multidisciplinary arts, cultural education, and community empowerment, Manos Morenas stands as a beacon of legacy, pride, and collective healing.

Goal One: Cultural Connection and Community Unity
Our first goal is to reconnect descendants of the African diaspora with our ancestral traditions—through music, dance, story, and ritual—and to cultivate a sense of unity, pride, and collective healing within our community.
Goal Two: Uplifting Marginalized Voices and Healing
Our second goal is to provide a safe, affirming space for queer, trans, BIPOC, and Indigenous people—centering their experiences and voices. Through mental health support, cultural expression, and community organizing, we aim to foster strength, healing, and empowerment for those most impacted by marginalization
