At Manos Morenas Cultural Center, our mission is to preserve, celebrate, and elevate the rich artistic traditions of the African Diaspora. We exist to create a vibrant space where ancestral memory meets creative expression—honoring the hands, voices, and stories of Black and Afro-descendant communities across the globe.

Our center is a sanctuary for healing, connection, and upliftment. Through the stories, songs, and dances of our ancestors, we remember that—against all odds—we not only survived, but we flourished. These sacred traditions are not just art forms; they are medicine, resilience, and resistance.

We are committed to using this space to build bridges within our community, to reconnect with our roots, and to shape a future grounded in dignity, unity, and joy. Through multidisciplinary arts, cultural education, and community empowerment, Manos Morenas stands as a beacon of legacy, pride, and collective healing.

We stand on three pillars:

  1. Reconnection – Bridging descendants of the diaspora to ancestral traditions through music, dance, ritual, and story, while fostering unity and healing.

  2. Empowerment – Holding safe space for queer, trans, BIPOC, and Indigenous people to find strength through mental health support and community organizing.

  3. Consciousness & Change – Creating a community grounded in awareness, collective action, and the resilience of our ancestors.
